A4P 3/3 is a synthetic polymer based foam concentrate capable of extinguishing a wide variety of fires, including hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires. The foam that is created is compact and capable of resisting heat, yet it can quickly knock-down fires and create a vapour barrier to prevent re-ignition. It has outstanding vapour suppression qualities, finding its place in HAZMAT applications. At 3%, A4P 3/3 can be used as an AFFF foam on CLASS B hydrocarbon fires. A4P 3/3 has better burnback protection and heat-resistant foam on hydrocarbon fires than regular AFFF foam. Non air aspirating nozzles (fog) as well as low expansion air aspirating nozzles can be used. At 3%, A4P 3/3 is an alcohol resistant foam, used on such polar solvents as acetone, alcohols, ketones, etc., where the polymeric layer of the foam forms an impenetrable barrier against the solvents. Air aspirating low/medium expansion foam nozzles should be used for this kind of application. Use A4P 3/3 between 1% to 3% as a CLASS A foam or between 0.5% to 1% as a wetting agent.
